raw

i went to this japanese restaurant last friday with my uni mates. i thought it was going to be the typical wan you know, with the sushi, ramen. i thought it was going to be cheap also. well, i was wrong.
before we went in, we had to take off our shoes and put them in a plastic bag. from then on, i knew this wasn't your typical japanese restaurant. anyway, i quickly tied my plastic bag as tight as possbile, heh.
so we were brought to our table and given the menu. i thought we were going to eat ramen, haahh. but we ended up ordering a plate of raw beef. it was the first for me lah, eating raw beef other than sushi. quite chewy. then we ordered also something like steam boat, but the soup the put in was more like "si yao". it was black in colour. along with the steamboat came a plate of vegetables, red raw meat, noodles and 2 eggs.
my friend collin asked who wanted the eggs, and gerald said he will share it with collin. so they both took one egg and cracked it into a bowl.

so gerald asked "so how're you going to cook it? pour into the soup?"
collin answered "hah? eat it like that lah. dip the meat in the egg and eat it like that. that's how they do it in japan"

gerald immediately dropped his chopsticks. hahah.

time for me to update

i'm running out of things to say. but i'll try my best to update.
what's been happening lately? i'm doing good.. still surviving. wahh... i really can't think of anything to say.
i'll try to excite you with my day today. today i had tutes and lectures in the morning.. can say tuesday 's the busiest lah.. after that can relax for the week liao. but i can't, cos' i got alot of cathing up to do.
then for this semester for our major project, we're supposed to work with a real world client. this client deals with shares. their software allows users to analyze the stock market. so one of our objectives was to enhance the website's layout.
at first, he said, "ohh, ok, do whatever you want with the website. add flash, or anything to make it nice"
so that's what we did. we added flash, and made it nicer. BUT, when we showed the design to the client, he didn't like it. he said it was too flashy, and the design was bad. then now only he specified how he would like the website to be. he specified exactly as the old website.
and we were thinking what difference is there if the new design is based on the old website?
at first we were kind of frustrated, but then we thought, we're working for the client, and he has the final say. so we tried our best to enhance the website as much as we could without changing too much... and so far, it's ok lah...

and for each week, we're supposed to do a presentation on our progress. so far, everyone has done once. there are 2 more presentations to go. and our project leader has voluntereed to do the 2nd last one. and the last presentation is for those who didn't do well for their presentation.
however, none of us wants to present. ahhah. so we discussed with our supervisor and he allowed us not to present.
i can imagine on the day of the presentation,

Supervisor: "group X won't be presenting cos' they don't want to...."

hahah.

thank you Lord

i met the professor today discuss about the subjects i have to take next semester.

Initially, during the 1st few discussions last semester, he said that i would have to do summer school. that means only a 1 month holiday in m'sia(which i should be thankful also).. but knowing me, i miss malaysia so much and haven't been back for 1 year already, i would have loved if i had 3 months holiday.

so back to the meeting with the prof. i could not have expected what happened next.
he said that i do not have to do any subjects in summer school! and that i don't have to do any more math subjects... heheh.
and sommore, now i get to go to singapore to visit her :)

walliauu... i just wanted to jump with joy man!! i really thank God for this.

oh, and i bought cendol from this stall. there were 2 stalls lah.. one operated by malays and chinese. so i wanted to buy from the chinese wan, but then my friend said, "eh, i think malays make better cendol" which after some thinking... is quite true also lah, hahah. so i bought from the malay stall.

i was happily smiling when they made the cendol until the lady added 2 yellow stuff. after my nose picked up this familiar scent and upon closer inspection, i realised she was adding nagka and durian into the cendol.

this was my expression:
